Lyme Regis organic dark chocolate covered marzipan with orange:

I had one of these for the first time today, as I was out shopping and needed a quick chocolate fix.

I bought this in Holland and Barrett for around 80 pence. The bar is quite small at only 40g, but wow, what a gorgeous flavour.

It is wrapped in a typical foil chocolate wrapper, which is bright orange and tells me the name of the product and all the nutritional information (which I tried very hard to ignore of course!).

The label also declares that this chocolate bar is Gluten free and Dairy free, and is therefore suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Well, I must be honest and say that I didn't read this until after I had eaten the bar, and I couldn't tell that it was in any way different to ordinary chocolate.

Obviously this product does contain nuts, in the form of the almonds that are used to create marzipan.

It is not divided into sections, it comes in just one piece. The dark chocolate covering it is not too thick, so you can break it up if you want to , and it doesn't create too many chocolate crumbs either.

As you break into the chocolate covering, the smell of orange hits you immediately.

Inside, there is a real treat for the tastebuds: Marzipan, with little chunks of candied orange peel scattered throughout. This also contains orange oil , to up the orange flavour, and it's absolutely gorgeous and the 40g size just leaves you wanting more!

I have never noticed this brand before, I don't know if it is only sold in health food shops or not, I just picked it up on impulse.

As the bar is so titchy, the calorie count is only 176 per bar, but still manages to pack in a whopping 7g of fat. Oh well....

I will certainly be having one of these again next time I go shopping.

Summary: Worth a detour into a health food shop to try this - Doesn't taste like health food!
