Maltesers have long been a staple favourite of mine. Chocolatey and crunchy, they are deliciously moreish, which is great for the big bosses at Mars but not for my waistline!!

These little chocolates consist of milk chocolate which covers the malted honeycomb balls which are their centre. The chocolate is creamy and melts deliciously in the mouth and I like to suck all the chocolate off before biting into the crunchy honeycomb centre.

They come in three sizes: the standard 45g pack, which are available at most newsagents, the fun size bag, which I always plump for at the cinema, or the 200g gift box, which is good as it has a resealable lid and looks quite posh so good for presents.

Happily, as these are light, they are less than 200 calories per bag, which is great for a chocolate snack and they still satisfy that chocolate craving!

Look out for that classic red bag next time you're shopping, it's not hard to miss with the white 'maltesers' right across the bag: you won't be disappointed!!
