Advantages: Delicious!

Disadvantages: Usual fat and sugar etc

Maltesers are a delicious chocolately sweet made by Mars. They are crunchy honeycomb spheres, encased in milk chocolate, and are one of the most moorish sweets I've ever come across!

Malteasers come in 37g bags, or in larger sharing bags. I would recommend the smaller ones though, as it is far too easy to eat a big bag all to yourself! These little bags sell for between around 40p and 60p, although can be bought in a multi pack for better value. You get a fairly decent portion for a snack in a 37g bag.

As soon as you open the little red bag which they come in, you can smell their delicious chocolatey scent! On biting into a malteser you bit into a crsip and crunchy honeycomb centre. It has a very nice texture, although it is far lighter than the honeycomb you would get in something like a crunchie bar. The honeycomb is covered in chocolate a couple of millimetres deep. It's quite a nice chocolate, qute creamy, although not the best chocolate I've ever had. It's the same chocolate and quality as you would get in any Mars chocolate bar.

Once you've had one of the Maltesers, it's very hard to resist having another one, and a little bag can disappear pretty fast!

Despite this, Maltesers are advertised as "the lighter way to enjoy chocolate" and contain just 187 calories in each 37g bag, which is 9% of your daily allowance, and 9.3g of fat. It's not too bad for a treat, but still probably not a great idea to eat more than one bag a day. I won't bore you with a full list of ingredients, but it contains the usual sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass etc as well as a couple of E-numbers. So not the healthiest snack in the world, but not as bad as some.

It says on the packet that it is suitable for vegetarians, so a nice snack everyone can enjoy!

I love Maltesers and would recommend them as a tasty snack to curb a chocolate craving! However, keep in mind all the fat and sugar, which although is less than othr chocolates, is still not a healthy amount!

Summary: A great chocolate snack!

I must be the only person in the world who doesn't like these, all of my friends look at me like I'm crazy when I refuse a malteser. Great review x
