Advantages: taste great, fun to eat.
Disadvantages: fatty and sugary
Maltesers are small chocolate balls. Inside maltesers is honeycomb, a crunchy sweet filling covered in creamy milky chocolate. The honeycomb is lovely because it melts on your tongue as you suck on them.
You can get maltesers in a big 135g bag, a 120g box, a 75g tube or the standard pack size of 37g. The bags are great for watching a film or going to then cinema wheras the boxes are ideal for birthdays or xmas presents.
Each pack contains:
Calories: 187
Protein: 2.9g
Carbohydrate: 23.2g
Fat: 9.1g
As you can see the fat content is high so these should definitely be enjoyed in moderation.
I don't buy these for myself, they don't last two minutes in my house! I think these are lovely though, so I usually recieve a box or three on my birthday and at easter. I can happily munch on these for hours!
Me and my daughter had a lot of fun one night copying the old malteser advert when they suck the malteser with a strap to pick it up then put the malteser in someone elses mouth. That's great fun to try.
I also enjoy trying not to bite the actual malteser but sucking on it until all the chocolate has gone. This really is a challenge and I normally relent and just bite it.
Overall, maltesers are a brilliant chocolatey snack but they're not as light as Mars make out, so I still think you should enjoy these in moderation to avoid being unhealthy.
Summary: Great chocolates to eat in moderation.
