Advantages: Taste ok; Nice and crunchy
Disadvantages: Not much flavour
Maltesers are mad, why do we like them so much when there's hardly and chocolate on them and they are so light that they don't fill you up for 5 mins???
They're little balls of crunchy honeycomb that are coated in milk chocolate. The chocolate looks quite glossy and when you bite into a Malteser you'll be suprised by how crunchy it is.
They taste very nice but I never think of them as much of a treat really because there isn't much flavour to them and I never feel like I'm pampering myself when I eat these. The honeycomb inside tastes nice and malty and the combination of this and the smooth sweet chocolate is good.
The thing for me is that Maltesers are very sweet but they don't follow this up with high flavours. The maltiness of the honeycomb disappears quite quickly and then the only flavour is the chocolate and that's not madly high quality either.
I'd rather have Minstrels if I'm going to have a bag of chocolates because at least they're proper chocolatey, not like Maltesers that are too light to be enjoyable.
A bag costs about 55p and I don't buy them that often because like I said, I think there are nicer treats available. The lightness of the insides means you don't feel like you've had much to eat after scoffing a whole bag and personally I'd rather have something that stays with me for a bit.
Summary: I Think They're Boring, Sorry!

- 01/11/09 Quite an epidemic of Maltesers reviews today! Agreed that Minstrels are very nice, though. |
