Advantages: Value, good quaility food, nice treat

Disadvantages: can sell out quickly

The M&S Dine in for £10 deal is an offer that seems to be on once a fortnight or once every three weeks at the moment. The offer is that you can buy (from a selected range in the offer) a main course, side dish, dessert and bottle of wine for 2 people for £10.

Sometimes you can get a really good deal other times less so ,it depends on your own preferences and also what is on offer that week.

As a treat if you don't normally buy M&S food this is really nice. When the deal first started they were overly generous with their portion sizes and the packs of cooked potatoes for example fed 4 not 2 - now they have halved the portion sizes on a lot of the items they offer. You used to be able to get a large lemon tart or whole cheesecake in the offer whereas now they only offer 2 individual tartlets or 2 individual cheescakes. However as the bottle of wine included is usually about £5 or £6 in value it is still a very good offer.

The vegetarian options are limited, so not such a great deal if you are veggie. I usually buy this offer when they include one of their roast chickens as a main meal. I dig around to find the biggest one left! I have in the past found a chicken priced at £9.90 and then gone on to get all the other items in the offer and saved about £12. Should have come to £22 but £10 with the offer. The roast chicken lasts for easily 2 meals for 2 people plus usually some bits left for sandwhiches or stiry fry so very good deal.

If you don't drink M&S usually offer a twin pack of orange juice or more recently a twin pack of sparkling apple juice. I don't tend to drink loads of wine at home so occasionally get theapple juice when i have stock piled about 4 bottles of wine that i haven't got round to drinking.

THe best time to go is a thursday when the offer starts and there is most choice or sometimes a saturday morning if they have restocked on the friday night. The more popular items can run out quite quickly but there always seems to be good selection of the wines left. There is usually a white, red and rose on offer.
