Advantages: Tasty, Fruity, Juicy
Disadvantages: Just don't overdo it as quite high in sugars
I love Percy Pigs! Trust Marks and Spencer to produce such a delicious sweet.
I must admit that I only ended up tasting these because my boyfriend is pretty obsessed with them and always ends up grabbing a bag as we approach the counter in Marks and Spencer. There are a selection of other animal sweets to choose from, but these are the best by far and the others are nothing in comparison.
Percy Pigs are foamy sweets in the shape of a piggy's face - a bit bigger than a 50p piece but thicker and a nice size to get your teeth stuck into! They are chewy but also very juicy tasting. They are made with fruit juice and you can taste this - the taste is like a tropical fruit juice and the juices used are Apple and Orange. There are also fruit concentrates helping the fruity flavour - Elderberry, Grape, and Blackcurrant. Bees Wax is used as the glazing agent and there are apparently no artifical colours or flavourings. Vegetarians watch out though, as there is Pork Gelatine in these sweets.
The bags come as 170g bags which are (I think but my boyfriend would disagree!) enough to share as a nice little treat after some food. In terms of healthyness, even though they aren't hugely bad for you, there are a lot of sugars in so these should definitely be a treat rather than a daily occurrence. Per 100g there are 335 calories, no fat, but of the 78g Carbohydrate, 74g are sugars.
I do know a few people who can't stand these, so try a Percy Pig and maybe some of his farmyard friends and make the decision for yourself!
I'm afraid I don't remember the cost, but they can't be too much, I'm guessing less than a pound for the bag, and I will update this as soon as I buy another bag!
