Advantages: Not overly sweet, perfectly tart, appeals to all ages

Disadvantages: 25 kcal per serving where 1 serving = 1 piece. Can quickly add up!

My best friend's father was English but she was born and raised in the US. She always brings an extra suitcase with her when she comes to visit London, as she always leaves with an excess amount of English chocolates and candies - Cadbury's is simply better than its US equivalent, Hershey's, and there are no suitable substitutes for Rowntree Fruit Pastilles, either. The one candy, though, that she buys from the beginning of her trip to the end of her trip, which causes her to madly dash to M&S before her flight to re-stock as she's already eaten her supply, that she insists I bring back to her every time I fly home, are Percy Pigs. I have experienced a similar single-mindedness amongst my other friends who have spent some length of time in England - Percy Pig is thus, arguably, the UK's most-loved ambassador.

The remarkable thing about Percy Pigs is that I couldn't tell you what flavour they are trying to emulate (certainly not 'pigs'; the pink colour leads me to believe they're strawberry-flavoured but it might even be blackcurrant?) but I would know the taste anywhere. Not overly sweet, slightly tart, perfectly chewy and sized, Percy Pigs are a real mid-afternoon treat. However, one must abstain from too vigorously enjoying Mr Pig - each sweet is 25 kcal. If one were to eat four servings, a face for each of Mr Pig's trotters, perhaps, that would be a mere 100 kcal, but let's face it - who stops at only 1, or only 4 pieces?

With the recent announcement that M&S will begin stocking other labels in its stores, one can tell that certain store-brand products will rise whilst others will fall. Percy Pigs will undoubtedly remain victorious! Regardless of your age, you will enjoy this snack!

Summary: M&S could stock only these and possibly still stay afloat for all of PP's fans
