Way waaaay too sweet! (Marks & Spencer Strawberry and Vanilla Cupcakes)

I have to say I have not enjoyed these and will not be buying them again.

They are good value at £2.50 for four, and the packaging is retro and kitsch and looks good in the cupboards! You get four cakes in the box and they are well packaged so they dont fall over and squish in the box.

They are visually fabulous - light thin paper, soft yellow sponge peeking out from the top, baby pink icing and sparkly sprinkles which are edible and safe for children to eat.

Biting into them though however is where the perception changes. The buttercream topping is expected to be rich, but it is very VERY sweet, so much so that you would only want to eat half before you feel sickly. And its not often I say that about cakes! The sponge is soft and moist and pretty good; inside is jam bits... once again, a little sickly.

All in all not too impressed, at a massive 375 calories per cake there are better ways to spend your calories in a day¬!!

Summary: Dont buy unless you like sweet items!
