Advantages: Great taste, perfect with toast

Disadvantages: Doesn't go with loads of things

Marmite has seemingly entered the english language as a metaphor for things you either love or hate. Rather than trying to cover this up, the Marmite company have successfully played on this, and their adverts are pleasingly tongue in cheek. But there's no doubt that marmite stirs strong reactions in people, and being one of those who love the black stuff, i really can't understand those who don't like it!

To me the strong taste is one of the plus points, and its by far my favourite spread on toast (especially on brown bread). For some reason i've never completely gone for it as a sandwhich spread. I think with toast the butter and marmite melt into each other. I'm a bit conservative with my marmite and tend to use it just with toast, but my girlfriend puts in on her toast when she has baked beans and swears its delicious!

Being a vegetarian, marmite is a really good source of vitamin B12 too, and its great when tasty food is also good for you. I've tried a few other yeast extracts products, but they don't come close to match the king!

Summary: The king!

"Being a vegetarian, marmite is a really good source of vitamin B12" - Marmite is a vegetarian? :-)
