Marmite Love or Hate? (Marmite)
Member Name: littlemissyjojo
Advantages: Last for some time and is good for you Disadvantages: very strong taste, not for everyone. Marmite does indeed have a quite a unique taste. People say you either love it or hate it. I think this may in fact be the products advertising line too. And it's mainly true. I love Marmite on toast. I'm not such a fan of it in a sandwich but still like it. Because it's so unique I can understand why many people don't like it. It is a yeast extract and taste quite sour and meaty. It's very strong and too much can put me off. I was convinced i wouldn't like it for ages. My little brother used to have Marmite sandwiches everyday at school but i hated it. Then when I moved out my flat mate had some in the cupboard. She left it when she moved out and one night i was desperate for some food. I ended up making toast but there was nothing to put on it. I ended up trying Marmite again and was pleasantly surprised. I still wouldn't make a sandwich with it in and my friend puts it on crumpets which I'm not a fan of. But if you have tried it before and didn't like it perhaps try it on something else. It's actually quite good for you and is about £1.20 for the smallest jar but lasts me a while. There's many different sizes so you can find the one right for you, and they even do a squeezey one now which is handy! Summary: would give it a try if i were you! |
