I love marmite but I can understand why some people would hate it as it has got a very strong acquired taste. Marmite comes in a dark glass jar in several sizes and it now also comes in a squeezy jar. It lasts for ages as you don't need to use much in one go; in fact it tastes better if you don't I think. Marmite is full of B vitamins ... Read the complete review

I have been eating Marmite ever since i was little, i am now mid twenties so i have been eating it for a very long time, and still absolutely LOVE IT. ** Where did it all begin for Marmite** The Marmite Food ... I have been a big fan of marmite for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a small child I have always loved it on my toast in the mornings. My husband hates the stuff and so now my children also hate it because "Daddy says it's yuk"! I think the main reason people don't like it is because they spread it too thick and ... Marmite is a yeast based spread. Its a dark brown colour. It has a strong taste to it, and as they say you either love it or hate it. The smell is also strong and is a very distinct smell I love it, especially on toast with loads of butter on top. Its also nice on crumpets or cream crackers. My middle daughter also loves it. ... I love Marmite and make sure there is always a jar in the cupboard. I'm really boring and mainly eat it spread on toast for breakfast. But I've been known to be adventurous and eat it at lunch time! Seriously it is something you can have anytime of the day, as a snack or you can add it to stews and casseroles to enhance the taste. I also like ... Read the complete review

Marmite - people say you either love it or you hate it. I happen to be in the love it category! Marmite is a dark brown sticky substance that comes in various size of glass jars. It has a very strong taste and is quite salty. It can seem quite expensive when you first buy it but you will find (unless you're a complete marmite freak) ... Read the complete review

For years I was convinced that Marmite was made from beef extract but in fact nothing could be further from the truth and Marmite is in fact 100% suitable for vegetarians. The actual ingredients make for very dodgy reading and I think if I had read them first I would never have even tried the stuff, mind you that would have been a good ... Read the complete review

I am most definately a Marmite lover and so are all my family! I tend to have my 'Marmite fix' every day, usually on toast in the morning. I have met many people in my life though who hate it! Marmite was first produced over a hundred years ago and there aren't many homes in the country without a jar of this brown 'gunk' in their ... Read the complete review

Mmmmmm, marmite. What a wonderful invention. Having said that, it appears it creates a different view in different people. It is one of those things that you are unlikely to feel ambivilant about. Generally you love it or hate it. Whats also interesting is that the same thing applies in cats. I have one cat who will eat it off your ... Read the complete review

I can not stand this dark brown sticky smelly savory spread- They say you either love it or you hate it and they are not lying!!! Marmite is made from yeast , which is a bi product of the brewing industry- and i think its smell like it too! It is very strong and has a salty flavour and is a great source from vitamin B. ... What is marmite. It is at its simplest a sandwich spread, much favoured on hot toast. It comes in a very distinctive brown glass jar with a yellow lid. When you open the lid you will find a dark brown paste. Now if you have never heard of Marmite you may not have heard that you either love it or hate it. Dip something into a jar ful and ... Marmite - you either love it or hate it! I am firmly in the love-it camp! Marmite was first developed over 100 years ago in 1902 and the product has changed little in that time - brewers yeast is broken down, concentrated and filtered and then vitamin, vegetable and spice extracts are added to make the final product! Marmite ... Read the complete review

I love marmite. It tastes like nothing else on earth, which makes it hard to describe but great to eat. On opening a jar of marmite the first thing that hits you is the smell. Marmite is made from yeast so opening a jar of marmite is a bit like going past a brewery, a yeasty smell mixed with salt that is completely unique and prepares ... Read the complete review

I love it! Do you? Or do you hate it? Stick it on toast or disolve it in hot water and drink the stuff. It's delicious, its nutritious and its healthy as well. Its brown, its a yeast extract. Its a by-product of brewing. So how come so many people don't like it? When it comes in the classic glass pot with its ... Read the complete review

I shatter the rule that states 'You either love it or you hate it'. I quite like a round of toast with a thin spread of marmite but I would certainly get by without it. When I do have it I enjoy it but a few times in a week would be ample for me. I like the strong taste but I can see why other people dislke marmite. If you don't like ... Read the complete review

I was working with a young American lad some time ago and he picked up a jar of Marmite and asked what it was. I told him it was a sort of British icon, you love it or you hate it, etc etc. I also told him that sometimes we spread it thinly on toast and give it to babies to chew on. He said he would try it. I told him twice that it was ... Read the complete review

It's true what they say, you either love it or hate it and I am one of those who love it. But I do have a limit to how much I can eat as the flavour is so very strong and quite salty. Who would have thought such an innocent lookin jar of Yeast extract would cause so much contraversy across the taste buds of the nation! Marmite is what you get when you brew beer - yeast extract. Marmite (and it's cousin, vegemite) are two of the foods that have been around me as long as I can remember - from having my mother eat it by the bucket around as a child, to having flatmates who spread it on toast like it's going out of fashion, I've never been far from a tub of the gooey stuff. It's consistency amuses me - it's ... Read the complete review
