Advantages: filling and tasty

Disadvantages: too big!

I never buy mars bars because they seem a bit boring and also are so filling. Whenever I do get one though, I love them. They are not boring, they are simple and they work.

A base of dark nougart is topped with a thick layer of sweet caramel and the whole thing is coated in milk chocolate. It is quite a sickly combination once you have eaten the whole thing. It also tends to stick in your teeth. Having said all that, I really do like the taste but I have quite a sweet tooth. I think one of the best aspects of the flavour is the fact that the caramel, although sweet is in fact quite dark for a caramel and therefore perhaps not as sweet as it could be.

There are nearly 300 calories in a single bar which is a massive amount! I'm not sure that "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play" - they help you get fat, that's for sure! They are delicious though! It's been around since the 1930s so has certainly stood the test of time!

A standard bar is a very substantial 62.5 grams and costs about 50 pence. Although they are the same price as most chocolate bars, they are far more substantial and filling and so you are getting better value for money, if you can handle them!

Summary: Delicious!
