Advantages: Smooth, sweet, generous servings of caramel
Disadvantages: quite rich for some maybe
Mars Bar is a chocolate bar containing milk chocolate on the outside coating along with caramel and soft nougat.
The amount of the above per bar is I have to say very generous per bar. The caramel layer being around 1/4 to 1/2 of a cm thick and plenty of the sweet nougat rests under.
As you bite into a mar bar, you are greeted with a soft, smooth texture, the chocolate melts well in your mouth and the taste is great. I find it a pretty rich chocolate which itself does tend to fill me up when I'm feeling hungry. So it's not something to really eat before a meal as it's quite high in fat, sugar and high calorie content. It can also be quite sickly if eaten on a relatively full stomach and I sometimes struggle to eat a whole one to myself but then again I have a low tolerance to chocolate. But this is one of my favorite bars of all.
Mars is commonly available as a 58g bar costing around 50-60 pence. There are many spin-offs of the mars product but the actuall chocolate is also available in mars duo, weighing at 87g and costing around 90p.
Mars is indeed a delicious chocolate bar, but I do tend to find it very rich, which I won't knock it for as different people may find its richness varying.
Summary: Great if you're feeling peckish
