Mars bar - the monster packed chocolate bar. No other chocolate bar comes close in terms of sheer quantity provided. It gives you a nice milk chocolate coating that covers a soft nougat centre with a smooth caramel layer on top. Brilliant. "A mars a day helps you work, rest and play"

Mars bars have always been and probably always will be a very popular snack. They are pretty darn sweet though, one's enough! I find them ideal when you're quite hungry but just looking for a quick, tasty snack or when you need a big burst of energy. Chocolate is well known for its energy giving properties and Mars bars are no exception. When I'm out walking or hiking for a few days there's always a fair few Mars bars in the bag. Whilst not a long term energy source they certainly give you a quick and powerful boost thanks to their simple sugars.

A Mars bar definitely isn't healthy, packing over 300 calories in the one bar. Compliment this with a whole lot of saturated fat and it is not a snakc you want to be indulging in on a regular basis. They do taste dam good though and in moderation they're not going to do any harm!

Summary: Mars bars are a classic in the UK and probably will be for the rest of time!
