Advantages: It's by Mars!

Disadvantages: It's one of the most boring chocolate bars I've tried!

I really fancied a chocolate bar the other day so popped to my local newsagents to have a nose. I always like to try something different rather than stick to the same old galaxy or dairy milk so I opted for Mars Delight.

Mars Delight is nothing like your typical 'Mars Bar' coming in a completely different wrapper and tasting completely different too.

Mars Delight can be found in a not so delightful cream colour wrapper, alot thinner and narrower than your usual mars bar. It clearly says Mars in the corner, although personally I don't think you should let this win you over! It then says Delight in large, white bubble writing on a deep red background. It says on the wrapper 'Surprisingly crispy, deliciously smooth' - very little faith they had in this then if it's 'surprisingly' this good right? The bar contains no artitificial colours, flavours or preservatives. In case you are wonderin now Mars Delight is quite simply Crispy rippled wafer surrounded by Caramel Cream and Chocolate cream covered in milk chocolate. A fantastic description of a not so brilliant bar in my opinion.

The chocolate bar itself looks nothing special being narrow, rectangular with ridges throughout thanks to the rippled wafer buried underneath. Biting into a bar you are met by a strange array of textures but not many flavours really. It's a light and crispy bar but really offers nothing apart from that. The wafer is crunchy yes, but it's boring, I don't find the caramel cream offers anything apart from a creamy consistency to the bar. I don't particularly like the flavour and I feel they were just trying to imitate the hazelnut filling you can find within Kinder Bueno bars and it is nowhere near this standard tastewise or consistency wise really. The chocolate coating the whole bar is a thin layer, it's sweet like mars chocolate and creamy but that is about the only good thing but theres not enough of it.

The bar comes in two small pieces in one wrapper for some reason and each piece contains;
99 calories
5.9g fat

To be honest I wouldn't recommend this chocolate bar to anybody, it's OK and neither here nor there, it doesn't offer an awful lot really.

Summary: Mars have tried to make something great which has turned out terrible!
