Advantages: Moreish and very tasty

Disadvantages: It is hard not to eat the entire bag at once!

I haven't tried a bag of Galaxy Minstrels in a while so I thought I'd see what I've been missing...

What are they?: The Minstrels are a consistent circular disc shape and contain Galaxy milk chocolate in a crispy shell. There were 16 Minstrels in the bag that I tried. They are roughly the size of a large button.

Packaging: The Minstrels are contained in a light brown/brown foil bag that is simple to open without spilling the Minstrels everywhere. The bag weighs 42g.

Smell: The smell when you open the bag is a faint and subtle chocolate smell, presumably as the chocolate is encapsulated in the shell.

Taste: The external shell tastes slightly sugary and not of chocolate. It is a fairly non descript taste and does not melt in the mouth. This does not detract from the product though as I would think that most people bite straight through to the chocolate goodness. When you bite through the shell you are instantly hit by the very rich and smooth Galaxy milk chocolate that is incredibly moreish. It is very difficult to not eat the whole bag and save some for later.

Storage and handling: Particularly as we are in the middle of a heatwave, make sure you store the Minstrels in the fridge prior to consumption. However, compared to other chocolate products, as the chocolate is in a shell it seems slightly less susceptible to heat. It is also a nicer way to eat Galaxy as you do not get chocolate on your hands.

Healthy?: Probably not but it is chocolate after all! And very tasty chocolate at that.

Overall: If you have never tried Minstrels - you must. They are moreish, very tasty and can be saved for later if you have the willpower. They are great for parties, an after dinner treat or sitting down to watch a movie.
