Well those of you who read my dooyoo review on Planets were I bought 3 bags of mars chocolates for a £1, may well have guessed this review was coming.

Here is yet another chocolate I remember from my childhood. At the time these were known as Treets and they have certainly lasted the test of time. What was it in the air in the 1970's that made these chocolateers come up with some fantastic products?

The chocolate Treet was made of milk chocolate with a glazed finish. The advertising slogan at the time was 'Treets melt in your mouth, not in your hand'. They were absoloutely delicious.

According to Wikipedia in 1988 Mars decided to rename the chocolates to 'Minstrels' and that is what they are still called today. However I believe it was earlier than that as there are adverts refering to Minstrels as far back as 1981.

Minstrels have since been repackaged and now now have Galaxy written on the front of the packet. This is in no doubt to inform the consumer that this packet of chocolates have the distinctive taste of Galaxy Chocolate.

I didn't give a great review on the Planet Chocolates but these I can't praise enough. They have been with me since childhood. I must have eaten hundreds of packets of them over the years. In fact the small packet is usually not big enough for me. You only seem to get about 10-15 chocolates in there. I usually try and buy the Cinema Size packets which are a lot bigger.........to share with - myself! These chocolates do melt in your mouth after you have got through the Crispy Shell. The delicious galaxy chocolate in the middle is gorgeous. I love sucking mine. How do you eat yours?
