Advantages: Great creamy chocolate, you can limit the amount you eat, cheap

Disadvantages: None at all!

I am a big chocolate fan, I could eat it all day everyday and not get bored of it I am sure, however I do have some control over my obsession and limit the amount I buy and spend on chocolate. I think most people have either a sweet or savoury tooth and mine is most definitely a sweet tooth!

If I buy chocolate when doing my weekly shop I try to get an item that I can limit myself to so many pieces or bites a day, for example if you read my Cadbury's Dairy Milk review then you will know I break chunks off and limit myself to a couple a day (Great will power I know!) so what better a chocolate treat than a packet of Galaxy Minstrels... a tasty treat where I can count myself an amount out each day!

Galaxy Minstrels can be found in most Supermarkets, Newsagents, Express Stores and even a treat in the Cinema! Galaxy Minstrels come in various sizes, which vary, from a snack sized bag to a large bag, which is ideal for sharing.

The cost of the Minstrels is dependant obviously on the size of the bag. The standard sized snack bag cost me about 35p from my local newsagents the last time I brought some but I have noticed in the Supermarkets you can get them on offers, for example 2 bags for 70p. The large bag costs about £1.40 but this is good value in my opinion and again can often be found on good offers in the Supermarkets, the last larger bag I brought was on a buy 2 bags for £2.00 offer, how could I possibly resist!

The packaging itself is very simple for Galaxy Minstrel, no matter what sized bag you buy, it is always a brown colour, in fact the colour of chocolate! The bags have the Galaxy logo on them and the name of the product. There is also a picture of a couple of minstrels themselves on the front. The back of the packet contains all the usual information such as ingredient listings, nutritional information and listings of other products from Galaxy.

The Minstrels themselves are round in shape and are hard to touch as the creamy chocolate is wrapped around a light but crispy shell of darker chocolate. The packets are really easy to open, the small packet you just tear whilst the larger bags you tear open but can re-seal them with a sticker that is provided on the packet.

When it comes to the taste test I don't think you can beat these little gems of chocolate! As I previously said the Minstrel is encased in a crispy shell made up of Galaxy chocolate, whilst it is crispy it is not to hard and your teeth just melt into it and then slide into the chocolate that is hidden underneath the shell. The chocolate is not to sickly or rich but just creamy milky chocolate that tastes in my opinion fantastic.

What is great about these is that because they are small you can have as many or as little as you want and when I do get my chocolate cravings after just a handful of these treats I am happy again!

The chocolate really does melt in your mouth and it is a fantastic treat. I have always preferred Cadbury's milk chocolate to Galaxy but eating these has really made me realise there is not a lot in it in my opinion.

A few pieces of nutritional information on these lovely little treats are as follows (Figured are based upon the small packet)

Calories ~ 212
Protein ~ 2.1g
Carbohydrate ~ 30.1g
Fat ~ 9.2g

These will never be a healthy option but the way I look at it is that you can limit yourself to so many a day, if you have the will power that is! I am not always that good!

In conclusion, these are lovely and I would recommend them to anyone, even if you are not as big as a chocoholic as me!

5 out of 5 Dooyoo Stars from me

Thanks for reading.
