Disadvantages: Tooooo sickly!

'White Chocolate with crisp, light honeycombed centres'

At this very moment in time, I have never eaten a White Malteser. However, by the end of this review, my aim is to have finished off the 165g 'pouch' that is sitting beside me.

So here we go, cup of tea in hand ready for the taste test.

The pack costs £1.80 from Tesco, but is widely available in other stores. Designed in a similar style to regular Maltesers (a big fave of mine), the packaging is predominantly red with a creamy white border. Obviously white Maltersers are depicted in the photo on the front rather than the milk chocolate variety.

Having already stuffed at least twenty of the little white balls into my mouth, my initial reaction is that they are not as nice as their darker shelled friends. Normally I have an impressive (?) ability to eat lots of chocolate without feeling ill - but i'm already feeling a little nauseous - *big sip of tea*.

Having subsequently dropped a white Malteser into my tea, I can happily tell you that they float... the things I do for Science... Actually, that was quite predictable considering they were previously marketed as 'the lighter chocolate'

In terms of their ingredients, White Maltesers contain:
Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Full Cream Milk Powder, Skimmed Milk Powder, Glucose Syrup, Barley Malt Extract, Vegetable Fat, Wheat Flour, Hydrogenated Vegetable Fat, Raising Agents (monocalcium Phosphate, Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate, Potassium Hydrogen Carbonate), Emulsifier (soya Lecithin), Demineralised Whey Powder, Flavoring, Gelling Agent (pectin), Salt, White Chocolate Contains Milk Solids 14% Minimum.

...'soya Lecithin' sounds a bit dodgy, doesn't it!

I did say only a few paragraphs ago, that my intention was to finish the pack before the end of the review. Now i'm normally a man of my word - but this time it just isn't possible. With only 21 white Maltesers left, i've reached by limit - sorry :(

In conclusion, I don't think I will be buying White Maltesers again. The taste is actually quite nice, but they made me feel queasy too quickly. I think i'll stick to the regular variety!

Summary: Not bad, but I can't eat many
