What are they?
************
Tasty little bite sized nuggets of chicken that look like mini sausages. These particular ones are the 'Roast Chicken' flavoured' ones.
Special features?
*************
The little nuggets are made from 100% of chicken breast meat. There is no need to reheat, prepare or cook them - they are ready to heat straight from the fridge.
Do they taste good?
****************
In a word, yes! They may be small but the effect on your taste buds is huge. When you first bite into them, they appear soft but once you gradually suss out the texture and taste - they appear quite meaty and the strength of flavour is spot on - none of the forced artificial taste that tries to imitate roast chicken, but of course this is the real thing - real chicken, but with roast seasoning, well, they do state roast 'flavour' at the end of the day... and they make your mouth water and want to put more in...
I'm quite surprised with these, as they look similar to and remind me of those little mini cocktail sausages that you get for parties etc. In my view, they're high in fat, low in meat content and stuffed with lots of grizzly fatty additives. However, with Fridge Raiders, the nuggets are made from 100% chicken breast meat and there is not much on the ingredients list either - besides the chicken, there is also a little rice bran oil, palm oil, cornflour and dextrose plus the natural seasoning and flavours, and that's it!
These are great - they're not made of junk, and as they're pure meat they'll be a good source of energy and protein. You can just eat them straight from the bag, so no cooking involved, but if you want to heat them up - it's up to you!
Cost?
****
Around 99p for a 65g foiled bag pack - there is usually around 15-18 small nuggets. I reckon they're a bit too expensive, especially when you're considering them for a party or something - nice when you have the whole packet to yourself but still, they could do with being a little cheaper!
Anything else?
***********
The packaging does advise on it containing wheat and gluten, so may mean bad news for people with such intolerances. These are also made in a production area that uses nuts - so perhaps a no-no for those with nut allergies either. These need to be kept refrigerated and consumed within two days of opening - it only takes 2 minutes to finish these, so I don't think you need to worry too much that...
Thanks for reading :) xx.
