However, the 29.2 grams of sugar in a single tube is very nearly a third of an adult's Guideline Daily Amount! These sweets are not suitable for vegetarians - it's that bovine gelatine again, I'm afraid - and may also contain traces of milk and wheat, as well as the dreaded sulphites. (*Which* sulphites, though?) Inside, there's a pleasant enough fruity smell, if rather an artif...more

This is my review on manynards wine gums. On the sweets they have diffrent messages on them what are port, Burgandy, Sherry, Champange and claret. Just to peole who think Wine Gums contain wine they Dont. Maynard wine gums have been along for over 60 Years what is a long time for sweets. My favorite wine gums is the green one it is so juciey when you eat it and taste of lime which is my favorite . The one relley good fact is that wine gums do not get stuck in between your teeth . The current price for a small packet is 45p and for a big bag is £1.25 at mt local paper shop. I can not say anything what is negtive with this product because ...  Read the complete review

I'd like to tell a little about my favourite unchocolatey sweet, namely Maynards Wine Gums. Last night I chewed through a whole packet in less than a minute (not literally through the packet you understand, I DID take the wrapper off first!). I suppose I should be feeling guilty as 1) I didn't share, and 2) they were meant to be my daughters but I nicked them. I was introduced to these my my dear old uncle Dave as he always had a packet as a travel sweet to distract him from chundering while moving. Obviously I nabbed as many as I could get away with when he was distracted by passing trucks, or a stray buffalo. To this day, I find myself ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Maynards Winegums: There's juice loose aboot this hoose! (731 words)

Having written about Maynards Wine Pastilles recently, it seems sensible to move on to the sweet with which Maynards really made their name: Wine Gums. Although the company (now owned by Cadbury) was formed in the 1890s, what has become their signature product was launched in 1909 - info direct from Cadbury's site, so not the 1896 stated in the category intro - which means that this very year marks its centenary. Hurrah! Let's have a look and see whether we should be launching Wine Gums parties all over the place, or whether it would be the decent and honourable thing to do to slink away along the back streets before anyone spots our shame. Wine Gums are not ...  Read the complete review

I am not a huge fan of sweets but when driving I like to have a something to munch on to pass the dull miles so my driving sweet of choice is regularly Maynards wine gums. The pack I have contains 52g of sweets and the sweets are in a long line wrapped in a predominantly red plastic packaging. The pack has the branding clearly highlighted and nutritional information per pack (170 calories, 3.2g protein, 39.0g carbohydrates (of which sugars 29.2g), 0.1g fat (of which saturates 0.1g), 0.0g fibre, 0.02g sodium, 0.05g salt) which is actually not too bad on the calorie front. Other information on the pack includes the ingredients (glucose syrup, sugar, ...  Read the complete review

Maynards Wine Gums are the nicest gums you can buy as they have delicious intense flavours and last a long time when you suck them, yet they are irresistible to bite into. You can buy them in small tubes or in larger packets. The tubes are 52g and cost just 39p. The wine gums are all round and are wrapped in a plastic packet, which is twisted at the end to seal it. The packet is very brightly coloured with the Maynards logo. You can also buy the wine gums in larger packets, which are 215g and cost around £1.28. These contain wine gums of different shapes but the same flavours. Lastly, you can buy a packet of 4 52g tubes for just 90p, which is possibly the best ...  Read the complete review
