Advantages: A healthy but sweet and tasty snack

Disadvantages: A little dry

I can't help always being tempted by something sweet which usually ends up being something chocolatey and very fattening. So a few months ago I decided to try to find something sweet but healthy which would satisfy my sugar craving whenever it reared its ugly head. I was actually recommended Go Ahead yoghurt bars by my mum who loves them so I decided to try a pack.

The bars come in a cardboard box which contains 6 foil packs of 2 bars - so there are actually 12 slices inside. A box this size usually costs between £1.80 and £2.

They are a light and crispy biscuit with a sultana and raspberry filling and a yoghurt flavour topping. The biscuit part of the bar is quite plain and hard and doesn't really have much flavour to it. It is also quite dry which means that the addition of fruit and yoghurt makes it taste much nicer and moister. The sultanas and raspberry are in the centre of the biscuit and these are very small pieces of fruit, so even for those who aren't too keen on sultanas or raisins, they are small enough in these bars to be enjoyed. The fruit gives a very sweet raspberry taste, although personally I would like a bit more fruit filling inside. The biscuit and fruit mixture are very much like garibaldi biscuits but the yoghurt topping makes them even better with a sweet and creamy finish.

Each slice contains only 74 calories and 1.9g of fat and they are lower in fat than other similar products which make them a perfect healthy snack or light meal. They make a great quick breakfast when on the go or are perfect as a light snack in between meals. I love to have mine with a cup of tea though, mmm!

These yoghurt breaks come in several different flavours including forest fruit, strawberry, plain, tropical, raspberry and blueberry. I've tried the forest fruit, strawberry and raspberry and the raspberry is by far my favourite the strawberry is far too sweet and the forest fruits not sweet enough so the raspberry sits just perfectly in the middle.

Summary: Perfect with a cup of tea!
