My teenage daughter often has some of her friends over for a 'sleep over. I'm sure all parents who are reading this will know what I'm talking about. Three or four young ones running absolute riot until the early hours of the morning, watching movies, playing computer games, yapping at incredibly high volume, playing music at an even more incredibly high volume, and emptying the fridge, freezer, and larder of anything that looks even vaguely edible. Finger food is the order of the day at a sleep over, and having been caught out a number of times in the past (they once scoffed three WHOLE packets of my favourite McVities Plain Chocolate Digestive and ... I usually find that McCain products are good and very reliable. I'd swear by their chips and other potato products but their Micro Pizza really lets them down. At least it does in my opinion. I have only tried the cheese and tomatoe variety as I haven't yet plucked up the courage to test out the pepperoni one. The 'pizza' comes in a box. You simply life the lid and microwave for two minutes, or adjust the time for your microwave. The box is spcially made so that it crisps the base of the pizza. I bought mine from Tesco at 99p on special offer. |McCains market this tomatoe paste covered piece of cardboard as classic Italian style pizza ... Read the complete review

I had seen this product in the shops quite a few times. I dont know what made me buy it the first time, but it isnt usually the sort of product I would buy. I try to stay away from microwave food as I always envisage it to be dry and tough and burnt in places and not in others. This pizza is really not like this. Every time I pop into my local spa I pick one of these up. The pakcages have been price marked at 99p for some time now, so for a lunchtime or afternoon snack the price is ok. If I remember rightly they contain between 300 and 400 calories. The pack is a cardboard box (which gets extra brownie points with me as it is recyclable). You peel ... Read the complete review

I am fod on Pizza, but wouldn't class this as a normal Pizza I would tend to eat, but i'm sure we all have times where we are looking for a speedy snack. Something that is better than a cold sandwich or a packet of Crisps. Since this is a quick blast in the Microwave, then I tend to have a few in the freezer for when I need 1. You find these in the Freezer section of a shop and they tend to be nearby to the Chips, and also there is often a Microwave Snack section which has things like Burgers, Kebabs, Toasties and so on. Last I knew 1 individual 1 of these cost about £1, and there was twin packs, which were a bit cheaper at £1.80. So not the cheapest thing ... Read the complete review

I love pizza but I don't tend to go for the shop bought variety and generally avoid them if they come from a fridge or freezer (tend to find the freshly made ones from Asda aren't too bad). However, had a bit of a rushed morning today and my husband was heading out to the shop so I asked him to pick us up something quick for lunch. He came back with a McCain Cheese and Tomato Micro Pizza... The packaging is reasonably attractive - black box with a predominantly red, green and yellow design and a picture of the pizza which looks fairly appetising. When you open the box the pizza is inside and wrapped in cellophane. It looked alright really - a good amount ... Read the complete review
