Surely this cant be a microwave product! (McCain Micro Pizza Cheese and Tomato)

I had seen this product in the shops quite a few times. I dont know what made me buy it the first time, but it isnt usually the sort of product I would buy. I try to stay away from microwave food as I always envisage it to be dry and tough and burnt in places and not in others. This pizza is really not like this.

Every time I pop into my local spa I pick one of these up. The pakcages have been price marked at 99p for some time now, so for a lunchtime or afternoon snack the price is ok. If I remember rightly they contain between 300 and 400 calories.

The pack is a cardboard box (which gets extra brownie points with me as it is recyclable). You peel the lid off (nice and easy to do as it is pre cut) and underneath is a shiney microwaveable tray. It only takes a couple of minutes in the microwave and then a couple of minutes to cool down. Its smells delicious when cooking and if you watch through the door you can see it go from frozen to golden brown.

The pizza itself tastes great. It has a light fluffy base with ahome made air to it. The ratio of topping is nice. I honestly cannot describe how surprised I was when I tasted how nice this pizza is. As a microwave product this is one of the best, it is never going to compare to a home made pizza, but for what it is, I give it top marks!
