Had these for tea tonight with lasagne and peas, so thought I would tell you all what I thought of these. I went into the Co-Op in search of any old wedges and saw these were two for £2.50, I love a bargain so I thought, why not? These lightly spiced wedges are made by McCain and they are cook from frozen. To cook 500g of these you can either put them under the grill or in the oven. If you want to put them under the grill you should preheat it 5 minutes before and grill on medium heat for 12-14 minuted not forgetting to give them a little shake around! When they have reached a sort of Golden Brown colour, take them out and ... I have recently started keeping a bag of these in my freezer as a quick and convenient way of completing a meal because they cook pretty quickly (around 25 mins in a hot oven at 220 degrees) and taste very good. They can often be found on offer in the supermarket freezer aisles for around £1 a bag but full price they retail at around £1.60. I first tried them at a friends house when she served a bowl of them to share with a fajitas meal, I was very impressed with the texture which is wonderfully crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The coating is nicely seasoned with a great mild spice to it, rather like a smoky flavour which might be because when ... Read the complete review

My partner got these whilst shopping at the weekend & I decided to try them tonight after I'd had a quick look on dooyoo to see whether they were here...... Packaging: The wedges come in one of the usual sort of plastic bags that you find frozen potato products in. This one is predominantly brown & has the McCain logo on the front as well as "Lightly Spiced Wedges seasoned with herbs & spices". At the bottom of the bag there's a picture of some rather tasty looking wedges. The back of the bag contains the usual cooking guidelines, ingredients, nutritional information, storage instructions etc. There's also pictures ... Read the complete review

Potato Wedges are a great staple item to have in your freezer and are a slightly healthier replacement to oven chips and an even better replacement for normal fried chips! The wedges are lightly spiced and seem to be fluffy inside which is just the perfect combination when put with the crispier outside. The spice is nothing too overpowering and is just lovely when dipped in to barbeque sauce. These are easy to cook just pop them in the oven, I never pay much attention to the 20-25 minute guideline and normally cook them for around 30 minutes along with chicken or whatever I am cooking that evenings tea. I find that this helps to ensure that the ... Read the complete review

McCains usually come up trumps with their potato products in my book, and their lightly spiced potato wedges are no exception. They usually cost £1.69 for a 750g bag which I think is very reasonable, and they're even better value for money at the moment in Tesco as they're on offer for just £1 a bag. You can cook these on the barbecue apparantly which I haven't tried yet but definetely will in the summer time. They boast that they're a 2008 official barbecue food (whatever that means!). I'm sure they are tasty cooked on the barbie though so I'll give that a go later on. For now, I've had these oven cooked everytime and highly rate them like it. ... Read the complete review
