We are a cheesy family. I have not come accross a cheese that I don't like, and I have bred a couple of cheesy kids as well. I have a 2 and a 3 year old, so we get through alot of food generally. But, I have really taken to cooking and baking with the kids. Cheesecake has become a massive NCT tea party fave, so I have been spending lots of time in the cheese spread isle, not my usual place. A bit of insight into my taste. I was brought up by my Italian grandmother 'Nonna', and she has to hide the parmesan as I would lop a wedge off and munch on it as a child. My taste in cheese is strong and stinky, and I can eat cheese at any time of day. So, I spotted this ... Read the complete review

I love cheese, well most cheeses and in particular strong cheddar, and I have on numerous occasions in the past perused the wares of McLelland the most superior producers of Seriously Strong cheese. In doing so I have an ever-increasing admiration for their most excellent cheese. It makes a great cheese sandwich and is a great addition to the top of my other favourite Lasagne. I didn't think it possible that they could improve on this superior cheddar type cheese. How wrong I was. A few months ago I was introduced by the courtesy of a special offer at ASDA in one of their 2 for £2.00 offers. He offer being two 125gm tubs of seriously strong ... Read the complete review

Crisps and Cheese are two of my biggest weaknesses and yes I do mean before chocolate. I prefer mature and extremely strong cheeses, the tangyness is so pleasing to me but I do enjoy the milder 'seriously strong cheddar' now and then so when I spotted McLelland Seriously Strong Spreadable in Asda yesterday I was more than willing to try it out. McLelland Seriously Strong Spreadable comes in a small, round pot, mostly red in colour with a cream background. It has a very similar design and colour theme to the cheddar itself so easy to recognise on the fridge shelves. The tub tells us to spread the cheese or microwave it to make a sauce. It also advises us to ... Read the complete review

Now I'm not usually one for spreadable cheeses per say. I find them rather processed and cheap tasting, and I don't class them as cheese, more a cheese tasting spread. I therefore had misgivings when I was offered some to try by my parents one morning during a toast based breakfast. I tried it none the less though as I was fairly familiar with the blocked McLellands Seriously Strong Cheddar which is one of my favourite non exotic types of cheddar cheese. So when I tried the spreadable version I was pleasantly surprised and actually quite relieved! It has a very strong cheddar type flavour, very similar to that of a farmhouse cheddar slice. It spreads very well ... Read the complete review

What a FIND this product is. It is YUM with a capital Y. Currently on offer at 2 for £2 in both Tesco's and Sainsburys, or £1.35 on it's own which is how it's being sold in Asda and Somerfield. It is quite simply lush. Yes, I have visited all the above supermarkets - and within the space of a week as well looking for this product. It keeps selling out, obviously because it is so absolutely scrummy. Right enough of the gushing I'll give you some details. Seriously Strong From the McClelland brand has been with us since 1850 producing fine cheddar cheeses. Very recently they launced this new product Seriously Strong spreadable which ...
