When you open up the packet you are greeted by a delicious scent of milk chocolate, very tempting indeed. The cake itself is inside a large cupcake case, which can be peeled down at the side to make the cake more accessible. Slicing my knife through the cake to cut a slice, I found it went through the moist sponge easily, leaving me with a perfectly cut piece. Pi...more

Whilst browsing the 'cakes' section in my local Tesco store, I noticed they had quite a few offers on, including '3 for 2' and 'Buy One Get One Free'. Among their wonderful deals was a variety of delicious looking products. One of these includes the McVitie's Chocolate Cake. It looked so wonderful, I simply had to try it. Although I am not a huge fan of chocolate cake, there was something about this that seemed quite tempting and I simply couldn't let it pass me by. The cake comes in a reasonably long plastic packet. It is a delicious chocolate brown colour, with the McVitie's logo clear on the top so you know you are getting a great value of a product. There ...  Read the complete review

And indeed, the ...  Read the complete review

I have always liked Mcvitie's ginger cake to eat from time to time but never got round to trying their chocolate cake. So when I noticed a 2 for £1.50 deal on Mcvitie's cakes range in ASDA, I decided to get two of their chocolate cakes. For one cake it costs around 93p. Compared to other chocolate cakes this is relatively cheaper but no way does it compromise on taste and texture of the product. Been feeling a bit down lately so just wanted to pig out on a chocolate cake, this is probably a bad idea to result to this as comfort food, but it did taste good. I thought it would be sickly but even after a few slices it still tastes good, not too sweet, nice ...  Read the complete review
