Yummy chocie cake at a good price. (McVitie's Chocolate Cake)

Advantages: Tastes delicious, not too sweet, cheap.

Disadvantages: Addictive, sugar and fat content.

I have always liked Mcvitie's ginger cake to eat from time to time but never got round to trying their chocolate cake. So when I noticed a 2 for £1.50 deal on Mcvitie's cakes range in ASDA, I decided to get two of their chocolate cakes. For one cake it costs around 93p. Compared to other chocolate cakes this is relatively cheaper but no way does it compromise on taste and texture of the product.


Been feeling a bit down lately so just wanted to pig out on a chocolate cake, this is probably a bad idea to result to this as comfort food, but it did taste good. I thought it would be sickly but even after a few slices it still tastes good, not too sweet, nice moist chocolately taste. It tastes fantastic with a dollop of Morrison's Vanilla Ice-cream, but I have a feeling it would taste very sickly with Morrison's Triple Chocolate Ice-cream.


The cake of course is full of fat and sugar, it's a cake it is suppose to be, but it indicates that it is suitable for vegetarians. It contains milk, egg, soya, gluten and it may also contains traces of nuts so watch out if you have allergies.


The cake appears as a loaf looking chocolately in colour, moist and spongy with a paper cake case underneath it. It comes wrapped in brown packaging with a picture of a block of chocolate.


Overall it is a great chocolate cake at a lower price. However since it is very addictive I best just buy this from time to time.
