I can't believe I only sampled my first Hob Nob about a year ago. I'm proud to put myself under the umbrella of being a Hob Nob fan, even though I didn't think I'd like them at first (but that may be because I see Noddy Holder when I think of Hob Nobs, which may be enough to deter anyone). McVities make probably the most popular & well-known Hob Nob biscuits, and their reputation as being a quality manufacturer that dates back to 1830 has brought them a wide fan base. They released Hob Nobs in 1984 and they've managed to retain their classic appeal over the years. What are Hob Nobs? That's a question I didn't know the answer to until I tried ... The HobNob is a bit of a british classic, and probably wouldn't be seen dead in a foreign supermarket. This doesn't stop me gobbling my fair share though! HobNobs are a lovely buttery, oaty mash of goodness that are usually purchased in a 300g pack, which sets me back £1 in somerfield at the moment. At 67 calories per biscuit and 3.1g of fat they aren't really very good for you, but the way I see it, at least it doesn't have chocolate on - eh? Despite a recent change of image, the HobNob packet is still utterly recognisable in the biscuit aisle and is an orangey yellow combination with a bright white logo. There are approximately 20 biscuits in a ... Read the complete review

Whether or not it's all the doom & gloom around this week (lists of our service-people killed in Iraq, the economy, swine flu etc) or whether it's because I'm just a pig I'm not sure, but I've eaten much more than my fair share of biscuits & cakes the past few days. I've always been please with heir products & I couldn't resist this pack of McVities Hobnobs yesterday which cost 60p from our local indoor market. The packaging is bright & cheerful (as shown) but this pack tempted me even more as it states there's 50% less saturated fat but with the 'same great taste'. When you open the heat-sealed pack (300g) you're greeted ... Read the complete review

My biscuit barrel is full this week after my weekly shop, mcvitie's hobnobs at 39p in Morrison's for a 300g pack. Hobnobs are nobbly oaty biscuits, with 60% of oatmeal goodness they are a good source of fibre and have no artificial flavours or colouring. They are quite simply gorgeous once I eat one I can't stop; they don't melt when dipped in coffee or crumble everywhere so they are a brilliant dunking biscuit, and to me they taste similar to a flapjack. The pack is round cylindrical packet which is a orangy in colour with the mcvitie's logo on a banner on the front of the pack; the pack contains around 25 biscuits. Mcvitie's ... HobNobs are a biscuit that is made out of rolled and jumbo oats and are produced by McVities who make a lot of the tasty things in life. You can also get these coated in milk chocolate, dark chocolate and chocolate orange (though I've never seen the chocolate orange one myself). You can also get HobNob style flapjacks. These plain ones come either in the standard packet or you can buy them in a plastic tube with lid but I think this just pushes the price up unnecessarily. The packet is orange and dark blue or for the chocolate ones mid and dark blue. I would guess that you get about 20 biscuits in each pack. These biscuits don't give the same snap sound as ...
