I'm sure that by now anybody who regularly reads my reviews will be well aware that I suffer from having a horrendous sweet tooth, and I do enjoy indulging this by sampling a variety of sweets and cakes from time to time. I was in my local grocery store recently and noticed the pack of "McVitie's Jaffa Cake" cake bars that were on sale. I am a huge fan of McVitie's jaffa cake biscuits, and would go so far as to say they are one of my favourite biscuits, although I had never before sampled this version of my favourite treat. I noted (with glee, I would add) that the pack of cake bars contained five in total, and each was individually ... Read the complete review

These cake bars are of course based upon the ever popular Jaffa Cake. Aswell as this variety, you can also buy Jaffa Cake Mini Rolls however in this review I will be rating the Jaffa Cake Cake Bar. They are produced by McVities and are available at a number of stores. They sell in a multipack of 5 cakes which are currently retailing at Tesco for £1.35 however they are in a multibuy offer of 2 for £2.20 until 18th August. Similar to the pictures above the cakes come in a cardboard tray covered with plastic coating. Each cake is individually wrapped making them perfect for packed lunches or those who are not regular cake eaters. The packaging is blue with ... Read the complete review

A friend at work brought a bunch of cakes into work yesterday as it was her birthday. So, I grabbed a couple of them to review on here...... Packaging: The Jaffa Cake bars are invidually wrapped in a predominantly blue wrapper which keeps them isolated from the air once the wrapper covering the main carton has been opened. The cake bars are laid in the carton which has part of the top missing & is wrapped with a plastic covering. Again this is predominantly blue, with various bits of writing in orange. Towards the right hand side it reads "5 pack". The back of the pack lists the Customer Care details, the ingredients, the ... Read the complete review

McVitie's Jaffa Cake Bars Description: Manufacturer: McVitie's / Type: Chocolate Bar Who could resist trying these? All Jaffa Cake fans everywhere has probably been tempted, that old favourite biscuit (or cake, the debate continues!) but this time, in a cake bar. Recognisable (and very similar to the biscuit packaging) by its bright blue wrapper with the name in orange writing and a picture of the cake bar on the front. You can buy these in most supermarkets. A pack containing 5 cakes costs around £1.30. These are basically oblong shaped bars which consist of a sponge base which are topped by a layer of orange jelly and are ... Read the complete review

I got a pack of these today because I wanted something sweet for after my Sunday dinner and they were only £1.49 for 5 good sized cake bars. The packaging is just like the proper Jaffa Cake packaging and is all the same colours so you can't miss them. Inside the main wrapper there are 5 individually wrapped bars, I thought the wrappers were a bit hard to open and I had to get scissors on it but then the next one I opened was a lot easier. I'd not had these before and even though they're proper tasty they are a bit too sweet for me. They taste quite a bit like a Jaffa Cake but the sponge is thicker and that takes the flavour off a ...
