Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None at all
I absolutely love biscuits and I my favourite types tend to be digestives. I also love the flavour of caramel so when I saw these today in my local Sainsbury's at the offer price of £1.00 a packet I simply had to try some!
The Packaging:
Bright yellow oblong plastic packet with the biscuits inside (18 of them to my count lol) all lined up in single file of course in a tube effect. On the front of the packet I'm told they are Mcvitie's Digestives Caramels 'Milk chocolate with a layer of caramel' and these is a photograph of a biscuit on there Other information on the packet tells me nutritional information, size is stated (300g), I'm told they are suitable for Vegetarians, ingredients and allergy advice is given, contact details for Mcvitie's are listed, the best before date is displayed and finally there is a bar-code to finish the whole lot off lol. It's a nice enough bright packet and I like the way there is a little tab to pull open the packet with ease to one end.
The Biscuits:
Sweet and marvelous! I ate all 18 in one go and enjoyed them so much I didn't feel any guilt whatsoever lol.
Size wise... well I don't know the exact measurements of course but put it this way I didn't think they were massive cos I managed to shove a whole one in my mouth! They of course round and have a wholemeal base which is a light brown colour with small holes in it and I'm told they're Mcvitie's Caramel. Then there is a layer of a light brown slightly gooey and sugary tasting caramel and that is covered with a lovely thick layer of rippled milk chocolate which is evenly spread and has a nice gloss to it.
Yes as I mentioned they are sweet but talk about tasty...wow! The base was moist and wheaty, the caramel had a lovely sweet sort of toffee taste with a hint of vanilla to it and the chocolate was just top notch! Rich and creamy and of good quality and melted lovely in the mouth.
I found them to be really moreish and really, really tasty! I think they're worth the money (even more than what I paid!) and I found them great to dunk but equally lovely to eat dry due to their moistness.
Simply gorgeous Mcvitie's and I will certainly recommend these to people!
