Advantages: A nice combination
Disadvantages: A little sweet
Along with the original chocolate digestives, my mum was offering these around too. I guess they must be on offer somewhere for her to have a packet of both!
These biscuits consist of a digestive biscuit, a layer of caramel and the whole thing is topped off with a thin spread of chocolate. They normally cost around £1.30 per 400g which I think is a little steep but I can't say that I've seen any cheap replica's about so they must be hard to copy.
The biscuits are the same size as the Mcvities Digestive so its common sense to believe that they are the same thing except this one is much better because it includes chocolate.
I found the biscuits quite sickly to be honest and only had two before I went back to the chocolate digestives. I really like the consistency because the biscuit was lovely and crunchy and the chocolate was fairly smooth but when your teeth get to the caramel, it is slightly hard and makes you teeth stop in their tracks. I'm not sure if it was suppose to be like this but my mum had kept them in the fridge so maybe the caramel was suppose to be runny. Either way the chocolate soon melted into the caramel and biscuit and before long you are left with it all stuck in between your teeth.
Although I don't drink tea or coffee, I did dunk one in my hubby's drink and it melted the caramel to a good consistency and I actually preferred it this way.
Each biscuit contains 81 calories and 3.6g fat which isn't too bad if you are going to have one or two but it is if you are eating the whole packet!
These are a nice change but were a tad sickly for me. I would recommend them but only if you can hack the sugar rush.
Summary: Not for me thank you!
