Advantages: Scrummy
Disadvantages: Fat content
I've always been quite controlled when it comes to biscuits, well only controlled in the fact that I don't normally buy them because if I do I know I have zero self control and will scoff the whole packet in record time. Since having my girls however, I have made a whole circle of new mummy friends and once a week we take it in turns to pile round each others house to let the kids play and have a good catchup. Now there does seem to be an unwritten rule that gossiping mums require biscuits and cakes to get through these afternoon sessions.
I quite enjoy choosing different packs of biscuits for these sessions but a pack I keep going back to are the McVities Chocolate Caramel Digestives, as soon as I spotted these I just knew I had to have them. From looking at the packed I could see that they looked just like one of McVities standard milk chocolate digestives, only with a gorgeous golden layer of cheeky caramel between the chocolate and the biscuit....now how good does that sound?
I picked a 300g pack of the biscuits from Tesco's and I believe they cost about £1.26. At the time I did notice that they did cost quite a lot more than the standard chocolate biscuits but they just sounded too good to resist. I also had a very quick glance at the nutrional information, but tried not to focus on that for too long as these biscuits really are not going to do your waistline any favours.
Now for the best bit.... these biscuits went down an absolute storm, everybody really enjoyed them and the packet was demolished in record speed. The chocolate tasted fab and the layer of caramel, gave the biscuit a really lovely chewiness and the flavour was scrummy. I would definately buy again but they are incredibly moreish so I think they will have to be a special treat rather than a frequent purchase.
