McVities Chocolate Caramel Digestives are a product that I thought must be very new, but in fact I've recently learned that they have been around for quite a while now! They've surged in popularity though, and started to be available and sold in most supermarkets which must be why I thought they were new before!

The packaging is very typical for mcvities with the logo definitely noticeable on the packaging but nothing special. Its slightly thin but is sealed around the biscuits very tightly, and I can sometimes find it hard to get open, normally you have to stick a knife about 2 biscuits into the packet to make a hole and get it open! In every packet of these that I've purchased, there has been 300g of biscuits, this equates to roughly 20 biscuits. You do get less than you would in your average packet of digestives though, because these biscuits are slightly smaller than the normal ones.

They look basically the same as your average chocolate digestive, with a digestive biscuit thats covered in a top layer of some sort of milk chocolate. The only difference is whats inside! The smell is very nice, the chocolate and the caramel mix together to make a lovely sweet aroma.

The taste is really rather nice! Adding caramel was definitely a good idea in my opinion and it really gives a nice change to the usual chocolate digestive, although you may not want to have them all the time because they can get rather sickly and sticky if eaten in large amounts. The digestive part is just the same as any other mcvities digestive, nice enough as is the chocolate which isn't particularly high quality but does taste very nice. The caramel is the thing that really takes it from fine to great, its lovely and rich, soft and silky.

One of the only issues that I have with these biscuits is that whenever I get a packet, they always either seem to be broken or really stuck together when I try and pull them out, which results in them being broken!

You can now purchase them in really any supermarket or food seller, eg Asda, I saw them in my corner shop the other day. They retail for around £1.20, but they are sometimes on offer so when they are, grab them!
