McVities Digestives (no chocolate)

Description: Manufacturer: Mc Vitie's / Type: Biscuit

... are not too hard, but not too soft biscuits which makes them good for eating on their own, but even better for dunking as well. The taste of them is fairly sweet but not too much, and although they are fairly plain tasting compared to some biscuit's they do have a nice distinctive taste to them. They come in a tube like pack and as they are all stacked on top of each other you get quite a lot in a pack. There about 70-80p in most stores however there usually on some kind of offers as well. These are really great...more

Premium Review McVities Digestives (no chocolate): A classic biscuit. (310 words)

Digestives Original by McVities are another one of those products that have been around for as long as I can remember. The pack I have is a whooping 500g and comes in a red packet with a number of statements boasted. They claim that they are a good source of fibre, there is no hydrogenated vegetable oil, no artificial flavours or colours and that the biscuits are made from 70% wholemeal goodness. The biscuits are made from: wheat flour vegetable oil wholemeal wheat flour sugar partially inverted sugar syrup raising agents (sodium bicarbonate, malic acid) salt dried skimmed milk Each biscuit ...  Read the complete review

Digestives are a plain biscuit made by McVities. The packet of regular Digestives have the same cylindrical plastic tube shape and have a tab to pull to open your biscuits easily. The two dominant colours of the pack is a distinctive red and a royal blue which is covered in light blue wheaty shapes along with a sign advertising that the biscuits are 70% wholemeal wheat so presumably that means healthy for you! Each biscuit is a generous size and is a nice golden brown colour which is appealing to the eye, they have a wheaty taste you can definitely taste that wholemeal goodness they claim to have it is really unique and distinct flavour. They have ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review McVities Digestives (no chocolate): not the most exciting but...... (423 words)

OK these McVities Digestive biscuits may not be the most exciting choice but I've always found them to be consistently good & hence there's usually a pack somewhere in our house. A 400g pack costs around 67p & they are usually as shown in the picture but the last lot I bought had a banner stating that they now have'50% less saturated fat - same great taste'. The biscuits come tightly packed in a plastic wrapper & they don't fall to bits or go too crumbly when opened. Each one is a good size (about 3-4 bites if you're a pig like me) & is a lovely golden brown colour. They have a nice texture which because the biscuits are fairly ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Classic Digestive (438 words)

What a coincidence; I'm sat with a cuppa tea and a biscuit whilst writing a review about the crunchy delight that is a McVIities Digestive. McVities have been producing these digestives since their initial release in 1925. Since then, they've retained their classic appeal as the best-loved digestive on supermarket shlves for us everyday mere mortals. These are also available with a layer of milk chocolate on top, and I would definitely recommend those! On average, 52 of these are eaten each second in the UK, making that a total of 71 million packets each year, according to their website at least. That 'fact' alone suggests just how ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review McVities Digestives (no chocolate): better without the chocolate (465 words)

I'm not really a biscuit fan and really have to be in the mood to eat them but when I am in the mood I can almost eat a full packet. I do love chocolate but I'm not much of a biscuit and chocolate fan mixed together if you know what I mean. I love a packet of plain biscuits and a nice hot cup of coffee. It helps me wind down after a busy day. I have just had my usual evening cup of coffee. I only usually have one a day as I normally just stick to squash. I am in a biscuit mood so as I have just eaten a load of my favourite biccies I thought this would give me the perfect opportunity to review them... ***McVitie's Digestives*** I was ...  Read the complete review
