Premium Review McVities Digestives (no chocolate): digestive biscuits (223 words)
by - written on 16/10/09 (Very useful, 20 readings)

Mcvities digestives are one of the most common biscuits on the market, and I think everyone has tried one of these at some point. I think most people love the taste of the original plain digestive, just a simple, yet very tasty biscuit that never lets you down. The biscuit itself is a fairly big round circle of digestive biscuit. They ...  Read the complete review

Digestives are a plain biscuit made by McVities. The packet of regular Digestives have the same cylindrical plastic tube shape and have a tab to pull to open your biscuits easily. The two dominant colours of the pack is a distinctive red and a royal blue which is covered in light blue wheaty shapes along with a sign advertising that the ...  Read the complete review

oooo where to begin? McVities Digestive biscuits are the original biscuit to me. Along with the McVities Classic Rich Tea they are the two best biscuits money can buy. They are great for dipping into your tea and they are a great snack alternative instead of crisps. When dipping in to your tea they tend not to break into smaller pieces ...  Read the complete review

OK these McVities Digestive biscuits may not be the most exciting choice but I've always found them to be consistently good & hence there's usually a pack somewhere in our house. A 400g pack costs around 67p & they are usually as shown in the picture but the last lot I bought had a banner stating that they now have'50% less ...  Read the complete review

My 4 'o clock cup of tea would be nothing without some kind of biscuit and at the moment your common digestive is my favourite. Three biscuits, I find is the correct amount to eat at one time. Two being too little and four means I can't enjoy my tea because I'm too busy dunking biscuits into it. This 250g packet cost me 79p from ...  Read the complete review

What a coincidence; I'm sat with a cuppa tea and a biscuit whilst writing a review about the crunchy delight that is a McVIities Digestive. McVities have been producing these digestives since their initial release in 1925. Since then, they've retained their classic appeal as the best-loved digestive on supermarket shlves for us everyday ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on McVities Digestives (no chocolate)
by Len - written on 31/05/09

I have, until recently, been eating digestive biscuits for many years and have found their taste and texture superb - excellent for dunking.

However, I have become fed up with them always being broken; this occurs no matter where I buy them and it is definitely not me breaking them.

Their customer services is not brilliant either.

After trying many varieties of digestive, so far, I have found Morrison's Organic Digestives to be excellent; however, they do contain the dreaded palm oil and do not dunk them for too long.

Digestive biscuits, in particular McVitie's Digestive, are my first choice in plain biscuits; I have enjoyed them all my life: when I was a boy my mother used to set me down with a couple of digestives and a glass of milk and I grew up big and strong! In the absence of any evidence to the contrary, you will just have accept that as fact! Now that ...  Read the complete review

I'm not really a biscuit fan and really have to be in the mood to eat them but when I am in the mood I can almost eat a full packet. I do love chocolate but I'm not much of a biscuit and chocolate fan mixed together if you know what I mean. I love a packet of plain biscuits and a nice hot cup of coffee. It helps me wind down after a busy ...  Read the complete review

Mcvities Digestives - to be honest when I first saw these in the biscuit barrel I was slightly disappointed! The idea is to make our bodies metabolically active by replacing body fat with lean muscle. Mcvities digestives are the best digestive biscuit - end of discussion. No other digestives compare to their taste. They are hard to describe the taste. Quite sweet but not over sweet. A bit wheaty maybe! better eat some more... They are quite a substantial biscuit so if you are feeling hungry maybe this is the one to go for. I can ...  Read the complete review

As we grow from child to adult our tastes certainly change for a lot of things, one thing that changed a lot for me was my taste in biscuits. As a child they had to have jam, cream or be covered in chocolate, whereas nowadays I prefer a rich tea or a digestive to dunk in my tea. My first choice of biscuit these days is a digestive but ...  Read the complete review

No other digestives come close to McVities for taste, they are moister and tastier than all others I have tried. They come in small and large packs and also multipacks in the recognisable red and blue packets. The packs have an easy open tab around the top so you can et into them easier, rather than having to pick at the top of the ...  Read the complete review

We always have a packet of these biscuits in our house! Although I was never really keen on them as a child (I found them rather dull!), I do rather like them now! McVities Digestive biscuits truly are a classic bit of british food history. Dating back to 1799 and indeed aiding the digestive system as the name suggest's, but this is the last reason anyone eats them. From my days as a child these have always been one of my favourite snacks. Deliciously simple, low calorie, and great with a cup of ...  Read the complete review

Mcvities Digestives remind me of teatime. Just put a few around the the cheese plate and add a few grapes and presto. They make a light wheaty digestive treat with cheese and taste wonderful too. So what makes these biscuits different anyway? Made with wholemeal wheat they are a very tasty 70% wheat goodness in a pack. Thats ...  Read the complete review
