A Galaxy Cake Bar consists of a chocolate sponge cake topped with chocolate cream and covered in smooth and creamy milk chocolate. I guess they could be considered a snack but only as an unhealthy choice. The bar is exceptionally modest in terms of sweetness and will not overpower the taste buds. The cake compartment is reasonably light but not over delicate and crumbles at the lower end of the scale. The melt factor on the other hand is impressive. The creamy layer does persist longer than the cake and chocolate cover. One bar is enough to diminish the hunger pangs for an hour or so. Eating one in public is generally not embarrassing but neither does one ... Read the complete review

I would definitely say that I am a cake person over chocolate. Don’t get me wrong, I love my chocolate but there is something nicer about eating cake, I feel more fulfilled and less sick. I love all kinds of Cake but my favourites are when classic chocolate bars go into cake form. The Bounty cake bars are nice as are many other buts I love the Galaxy Cake bars. The Galaxy cake bars are quite easy to identify. They come in a multi pack of 5 and are in the usual Galaxy colours of a light brown swirl and then the McVities logo. When McVities do it you know it has to be good. The packaging is simple but I think classy. So in the pack of 5 I reach for ... Read the complete review

I like chocolate. I admit it. There isn't much (or any I can think of) chocolate that I don't like, so when a colleague from work offered me a Galaxy cake bar, I wasn't going to turn it down. The Galaxy cake bars come in a pack of 5, or a great value 10 pack, and the wrapper is the familiar golden brown colour similar to the Galaxy chocolate bar. Across the front is says Galaxy Cake bars , and in smaller writing it informs you they have a smooth cream centre, covered in real Galaxy chocolate. It says that this is a 10 pack and that they are individually wrapped. Above the Galaxy banner is a small McVities logo, and the information that it is baked by ... Read the complete review

I'm not normally a huge fan of sponge cakes, but I do love Galaxy chocolate so these make their way into the shopping trolly every now and again. Galaxy makes these cake bars (which are baked by McVities) and so you expect good quality and their luscious creamy chocolate, which you do get. These are sold in a multipack of 5 and can be found in the bakery section of most supermarkets and many convenience stores as they're quite popular. At around £1.35 (Tesco) there are cheaper alternatives available, but these are good quality and very tasty. They're also often on offer, such as two for £2.30, in case you want to stock up on a few as they seem to ... Read the complete review

I spotted these for a reasonable price a while back so I decided to grab a pack of them and see what they were like compared to other cake bars I've tried in the past. Packaging: The cake bars are individually wrapped in a predominantly brownish wrapper which keeps them isolated from the air once the wrapper covering the main carton has been opened. The cake bars are laid in the carton which has part of the top missing & is wrapped with a plastic covering. Again this is predominantly brown, with the Galaxy logo written on an off-white background. The back of the pack lists the Customer Care details, the ingredients & the nutritional ...
