After the Christmas binging on chocolate, wine and lots of other munchie things, I have put on over half a stone ! Yes ! half a stone, shocking isn't it ? So, last Monday I decided to be positive and have joined slimming world, which I will write a review about in a few months to let you know how I have got on. Anyway back to this review, as I am allowed reasonable slimming food bars as snacks or for my breakfast with this new diet I went along to Morrison to see what kind they had and what prices they were and on the middle aisles, where they display their offers I spotted these Go Ahead Orange and Sultana crispy slices. These were on offer at half ... Read the complete review

Finding snacks that aren't full of all the bad things that taste fantastic isn't an easy job. I've bought Go Ahead Crispy slices for my daughter in the past and always looked at them thinking they looked really bland and dry, but not actually tasted them. In my mission now to start eating a bit better after giving birth, I decided to try these slices as I had recently tried the mini version and found them quite tasty. Available in three flavours, these crispy slices come in apple and sultana, orange and sultana, and forest fruit flavour. As a family we all like both the apple and orange ones, but haven't ventured onto the forest fruit ... Read the complete review

FACTS McVitie's is a snack food brand owned by United Biscuits. McVitie & Price was founded in 1830 in Edinburgh, Scotland. McVitie & Price's first successful biscuit was the McVitie's Digestive biscuit. It was given its name because it was thought that its high baking soda content worked as an aid to food digestion. MY PURCHASE I'm a bit of a snacker, I always get "the nibbles". I discovered these Go ahead slices in Sainsbury's and I thought fanbloomintastic. They are on offer at £1.50 for two packs at the mo). I bought two packs of the apple and sultana ones. (There are also other flavours - orange and sultana, forest ... Read the complete review

I have only just recently discovered these biscuits and I think they're great. I'm a big fan of having a cereal bar in the mornings for breakfast when I get to work because I don't have enough time to eat at home so I am always looking around the supermarket for new things to try when I came across these McVities Go Ahead crispy Slices. To me they are a cross between a biscuit and a cereal bar as they are quite plain looking. However, the taste is anything but plain. The biscuit part kind of reminds me of a rich tea biscuit, that same Mcvities taste. The great thing about them is that they have different flavours of dried fruit inside them, in sort of bite ... My pack of Apple and Sultana Crispy Slices was a "Managers Special" at Tesco, for 50p , yes only 50p! Its a standard size, consisting of 5 packs of 3 biscuits,, and in date. The biscuits are described as sultana and apple filling in a light crispy biscuit. They are low in fat, containig only 0.9g fat in each biscuit. In fact according to this new pack the product now has 50% less saturated fat and SAME GREAT TASTE according to McVities. Well as far as I can remember the crispy slices tasted fine before, though actually my favourites are the orange and Sultana flavour. Anyway I have to confirm that these taste really great to me. The light pastry ... Read the complete review
