Advantages: Tasty jam, healthier snack than chocolate but still sweet
Disadvantages: Crust can be hard
GoAhead bars are something I eat when I want to have something healthier than chocolate but still something sweet. Honestly though I only find myself eating them when theres no chocolate in the house.
Raspberry is definatey one of my favorite flavours though, ive tried the apple and the blackcurrent varieties too, but the raspberry has the strongest taste for me. The filling is basically raspberry jam, so if you like that you should like these. On the box it says there is now 50% more filling and in the ingredient list it says it is 53% of the product. At the bottom of the ingredient list it then says the equivalent raspberry amount is 16% of the product and it previously was 10%. A little confusing i thought.
In the box I have there are 6x 35g bars, to give u an idea of the size they are 10cm x 3cm and approx 1cm thick. The bar has two indentations accross it making it look like a mini loaf of bread and so you can split it into three pieces if you want.
The wheat crust of the bar can be very hard especially if you dont eat them soon after buying, even though they are all separately packed in plastic. There is an even distribution of fruit filling and crust so they are never boring nor too sweet. I find that I need to eat two of them though to feel full.
Each bar contains 124 calories and 2.5g of fat (1.2g of which are saturates, none of which are the nasty trans fats) so they are definately healthier than chocolate for a snack.
Ive checked online now and they are 1.97 for the box of 6 in asda.
Summary: Nice snack to enjoy
