... McVities Homewheat Digestives (ordinary ones, not light variety) have 142 calories and 3.2 grams of fat according to the McVities website. So, which would you prefer, two thin cardboard strips that taste sweet but you don't know you have eaten them, or two proper biscuits. Personally I think that the green, healthy looking wrappers on Go Ahead biscuits are designed to make you believe that they are much better for you. As the figures quoted here show, they are not. I certainly will not buy them again. They cos...more

Premium Review McVities Go Ahead Strawberry Yoghurt Breaks: Taste okay but more calories than two digestives (285 words)

These strawberry and yoghurt break bars look healthy the packaging is designed to make you think that it is okay to 'go ahead' and eat them. They are very thin biscuits with a faint layer of sultana and strawberry in the middle. The yogurt covering just smeared over the top. These biscuits do taste ok and they go well with a cup of coffee, or tea but I didn't think that they were any more healthy than ordinary biscuits. There are 148 calories and 3.8 grams of fat here for two very small biscuits that to be honest were not at all satisfying. I thought that was rather a lot and had to get hold of a packet of McVitie's Digestives to make a ...  Read the complete review

'Delicious yogurt flavour topping on a light crispy biscuit with a sultana and strawberry flavoured filling' Anyone familiar with my reviews will know I'm on a pre-wedding diet, but I do get hungry easily and like to have snacks throughout the day. I was in Superdrug the other day and some strange impulse at the till made me throw one of these into the basket. The blurb sounded tempting, and I was hungry. I haven't eaten Go Ahead products for years as I tend to find them bland and tasteless, but something about this one struck my fancy. I presumed it would be healthy because of the brand, although there is no nutritional information on the front ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review McVities Go Ahead Strawberry Yoghurt Breaks: Go Ahead and Avoid! (535 words)

As my search continues for a breakfast alternative that will keep me satisfied till lunch time, I opted to buy a go ahead yogurt break (strawberry flavour) snack this morning, over my usual special K or nutri-grain bar, just to try something new. I cannot say I regret the decision as I am able to review it! But besides that, there is little consolation for having passed on a better bar. I picked up this pack as it was next to my usual favourites and I am a big fan of strawberry snacks. The packaging is very similar to most snacks of this kind, only it shows the bar being covered in yoghurt, something a little different I thought and parted with my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Go Ahead, try one (337 words)

I purchased one of these Go Ahead yogurt bars (strawberry flavor) out of the vending machine at work today, and so thought I would write a review about my opinion of the bar. ~ Appearance ~ The bars come in a green foil wrapping, with a picture of the bar on the front, and in this case a couple of big red strawberries. Upon opening the packaging there are 2 thin bars inside, each covered on the top in a yoghurt coating, looking exactly like the picture on the wrapping. ~ Taste ~ I have tried a few of these cereal bar types of snack before, and often find them pretty tasteless, mainly tasting of wheat, and oats, however I was ...  Read the complete review

I have started eating healthily and also started looking for healthy alternatives and low fat snacks when im doing my grocery shopping. I was in Iceland a few days ago and saw McVities Go Ahead Strawberry Yoghurt Breaks. They were priced at £1.50 (for 6 packs of 2) I thought that this was maybe a little bit expensive but thought i would treat myself a little bit and buy them anyway. The packaging has been changed a lot since this Dooyoo picture. The packaging is actually a small green cardboard box with the words "Go Ahead" across the front in green. There is also a background picture of some strawberries and the words ...  Read the complete review
