Advantages: Taste, Price, Low fat.
Disadvantages: None.
I seem to be always hungry, and find myself tempted to eat crisps or chocolate in between meals to curb my appetite. Obviously eating loads of fatty crisps and choccy is not good for the waistline, so I try to buy healthier foods to snack on. I love the Go Ahead range, and am reviewing the Strawberry Yogurt Breaks today.
*PRICE AND AVAILABILITY*
You can pick up these in multipacks, or in single packs which contain 2 slices.
I have noticed that the price varies a lot depending on where you buy them from, and are often on special offer in my local supermarket. The usual price is around £2.50 for a multipack containing 6 bars - but I often find them cheaper.
You can find these on sale in most supermarkets as well as some smaller stores such as Superdrug or local stores.
*PACKAGING*
The slices come wrapped in a bright green wrapper, adorned with a picture of some strawberries.
It is very eye catching, and I read somewhere that the colour green is used in packaging for healthy foods, as green is supposed to be associated with health.
*NUTRITION*
My main reason for buying these, is to have as a healthier snack than the usual culprits.
Eating a pack of two slices will give me 144 calories, 4g fat of which 2.4g are saturates.
This is pretty good, low calorie and quite low fat but obviously not as healthy as nibbling on fruit, veg or nuts.
*TASTE*
Each slice is a bit likea thin cracker, with a thin layer of strawberry inside and covered in yogurt.
The taste is delicious and light.
It is crunchy, then you get the sharpness of the fruit, and finally a creamy taste from the yogurt. The flavors and textures go together really well.
*MY VERDICT*
I love these as they fill me up a bit, without leaving me bloated or feeling greedy.
The price is reasonable, and I often find these on special offer which is even better.
These are a perfect treat to take to work and snack on when I'm craving something a little bit sweet - and won't make me fat which is nice!
Summary: Try these, they are lovely

- 03/06/09 They do sound nice, although that's still a pretty substantial fat content. |
