... better than most chocolate digestives, firstly they are made by McVities who are well known for being one of the best biscuit makers in the country and secondly because they are coated in Milk Chocolate rather than normal chocolate. They come in the usual McVities packaging, a round shape because all of the biscuits have been stacked on top of each other inside and it has a picture of the biscuit with the McVities logo on one side with the ingredients, nutritional information and contact details for the company on th...more

Chocolate McVities have been around before for a long time. The company began producing them for the first time in 1925. On the side of the pack the manufacturers go to the trouble of assuring us that McVities chocolate biscuits can be eaten as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle. This is only true if you also accept that pancakes, vanilla ice-cream and deep fried Mars Bars can also be eaten as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle. A 2008 packet of milk chocolate McVities contains 24 individual biscuits enclosed within a chocolate and yellow coloured wrapping that can be opened at one end by pulling a cunningly hidden cellophane strip. In truth there are ...  Read the complete review

I would like to tell you a secret...... despite my recent dieting efforts I too have a weakness. This weakness is exposed each time I visit a supermarket or my local corner shop. This weakness is exposed by one company and one company alone. They are ' McVities. ' More specifically my achilles heel is the ' Milk Chocolate Digestive Biscuit ' Before I go into too much detail of my personal favourite I'll tell You some more about these two evils namely Chocolate and Digestive Biscuits came to be; * The History of Chocolate The origins of chocolate can be traced back to the ancient Maya and Aztec civilisations in Central America. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review McVities Milk Chocolate Homewheat Digestives: Sweet Milky Chocolate Biscuits (721 words)

I love biscuits especially chocolate ones but they are so very unhealthy. Despite trying to cut back on the amount of them I eat I still cannot resist a chocolate digestive when I see one that's why I bought McVities Milk Chocolate Homewheat Digestives. Now I'm sure that most people all know what a chocolate digestive is but for those of you who don't I shall explain. A digestive biscuit is rather different to other biscuits as it is made of wheat and has a sweet wheat taste that you just don't get in any of the others. It also has a nice texture, not like the smooth mush you get when you are halfway through eating a Rich Tea, these have a slightly rougher ...  Read the complete review

It's 12midday, and my boss has been out all morning at an 'important business meeting'. When he rang this morning he didn't sound very happy, and it seemed as though this meeting was something big. Not a word was hear all morning, until suddenly the front door slamed open, up the stairs he stomped, and plonked a packet of McVities Milk Chocolate Digestives on my desk. "Part payment for a cup of tea" he grunted. Great. He's in another increadible bad mood. However, the biscuits had given me an idea....Instead of just making the tea, taking a couple of buscuits, and putting up with him being moody all day, why not try cheer him up?! We are ...  Read the complete review

Mc Vities chocolate biscuits Without doubt these are some of my favourite chocolate biscuits the crisp crunchy crumbly digestive topped with milk chocolate. Mc Vities are now owned by united biscuit, as are so many other biscuit makes. Mc Vities started making chocolate digestives in 1925 The people in the UK apparently collectively eat over 52 of these biscuits a second. Chocolate digestives are available both with milk or plain chocolate and are made without using G M ingredients and they are trying to ensure that the animals they get their milk from are not fed G M foods, I like Mc Vities chocolate home wheat digestive ...  Read the complete review
