When biting into the bar the first thing I noticed was the chocolate cream which is sandwiched twice in between layers of wafer. The cream tastes rich and chocolatey and is quite smooth in texture. The wafers are also brown in colour suggesting they are chocolate flavoured. Although they are thin they are still very crunchy and they ...more

Premium Review Mcvities Penguin Triple Chocolate Wafer Bar: P-P-P-Pick up a Penguin Wafer! (377 words)

I picked these up last week during my weekly shop as they were at the tiny price of 50p for 9 bars! This was from Tesco. The outer wrapping is similar to the regular penguin bars, predominantly red in colour with a large penguin across the front. Once inside the outer wrapper you are greeted by 9 rather small bars. Each bar has a picture of a penguin on the front and similar to regular penguin bars, a joke on the back. This makes them appealing to children as they appear to be fun and interesting. Each bar is around 3 inches long and just under 1 inch wide which I believe to be quite small although they do make good snacks for kids as there are no ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review BLUE RIBAND WRAPPED UP IN A PENGUIN!!!! (395 words)

I am a very fussy eater and am very weary of what I put in my mouth that is until we come to try anything sweet or chocolately then I am game for anything. I generally come across new products either through TV advertising or in store promotions, as I am a sucker for a bargain, so when I saw the end of aisle half price penguin promotions in Tesco I picked these up. They cost 60p for a pack of 9 bars which I thought was good value (I would presume they RRP at £1.20 as this was a half price promo). Each wafer is individually wrapped in the traditional blue and red packaging each one with a penguin on the front and a joke on the back (I can never resist reading ...  Read the complete review

I've always had a liking for penguin biscuits but I have to say that they are not a patch on these penguin wafers which are absolutely delicious and are a perfectly formed snack! The bars are very small compared to other chocolate snack bars but if you just want that little chocolate fix they are ideal! The packaging is very familiar as it is like the typical penguin wrapping with the picture of the penguin on the front. The wafers are all individually wrapped and come in a pack of nine. On the outer packaging there are three ticks which are all the good things about them. These are - no artificial colours and flavours, no hydrogenated vegetable oil and they ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A great new product from the McVities Penguin range (242 words)

I found these in Sainsburies on the offer aisle for £1 for a pack of 9 last week. They are a new product from McVities who bring us Penguin biscuits and Penguin mini rolls (oh yes I hear you shout). I think they will be sold for around £1.39 full price for 9 quite small 2.5 inch x just under an inch bars. They are "Penguin triple chocolate wafer bars with added calcium" (from the front of the label) or to give it another description (also from the label) "Milk chocolate covered Chocolate Flavoured Wafer Bar filled with Chocolate Cream". They have more of a chocolatey taste than value range Chocolate Wafers and other wafer ...  Read the complete review
