Advantages: taste great, I got them at a good price, great cal and fat contents
Disadvantages: may be a little moreish..
I am so bad. I recently jacked in the 'diet' and am back to eating junk again!!! It's no good, I should stop going shopping.... and should really stop reading food reviews as they quite often encourage me.
Anyway... Rich tea biscuits are not my usual choice, I usually prefer something with more, well... chocolate! I only ended up with these as I had recently popped in to Lidl to see what bargains they had. Alas, all they had was McVities Rich Tea biscuits! I bought two 300g packets for just £1.
Nutritional Bits
Each biscuit contains 38 calories and 1.3g of fat. These values are considerably less than the custard creams, ginger nuts and chocolate chip biccies I love.
The biscuits are round (about the same size as the lid off a tin of soup) and around 5mm thick and biscuit coloured!!!
It is quite difficult for me to describe the flavour of these rich tea biscuits, other than that they are slightly malty and a real classic flavour. They are fabulous with a steaming cup of tea, which is exactly what I am doing now, dunking!! They do go nice and soggy when dunked but keep the firm shape if you are quick. If you like to dig soggy bits out of the bottom of your tea cup dunk them for about 40 seconds.
I am rather impressed with these biccies and find that the quality is really good. I don't want to encourage myself biscuit eating but I would buy these again.
Summary: I just can not stop at two....
