Advantages: Very tasty little biscuits
Disadvantages: Not enough in a box!
I'd seen these biscuits advertised on the television recently and thought they looked quite nice, so when I saw them in my local supermarket for only 59p a box I instantly bought two boxes- let's hope I like them! So did I..?
Mikado are thin stick shape biscuits, well to describe them better I would say they resemble thin chop sticks. They are almost entirely covered in chocolate, apart from a small section on one end. The reason behind this according to the box is so you don't get sticky fingers; which is a good idea as when my 4 year old son eats a biscuit he ends up as sticky as glue!
They are made by Kraft foods and the design of the biscuit is inspired by the game of the same name. I didn't count them but would roughly say there were thirty in a box..okay I will admit it I DID count them, and there were 33 actually...ahem (*cough*) ,getting back to the review...
The 33 mikado stick biscuits come in a small box which to me resembles a large cigarette box shape, but being a non smoker all my life others may disagree! Inside the box the biscuits are housed in a sealed foiled packet which is quite easy to open.
The test~
On opening the box there is an aroma which reminded me of Choc Dips (Mmm...remember them?)- very biscuity but not very chocolatey.
They certainly do have one end 'choc free' to enable you to hold the biscuit easier and I have to say my son looked fairly clean after eating one.
I found the taste also similar to Choc Dips - crunchy biscuits and milk chocolate - heaven! They were very tasty and the only negative thing I have to say about them is there just too addictive! I am so glad now that I bought two boxes as they certainly don't last long.
These biscuits contain Gluten, Soya and Milk and are made in a factory which handles Egg, Almond, Hazelnut and Pistachio so anyone allergic to any of these beware!
Mikado can be found in supermarkets on the biscuit aisle and though you don't need to refrigerate them I did and found they were crispier.
I would definitely buy these biscuits again as they are very, very nice but one box isn't enough!
Summary: Will be most definitely buying these again
