Advantages: They were only 60p....
Disadvantages: Pricey when not on offer. Taste cheap. Dry biscuit.
I've been quite intrigued by these 'chocolate biscuit stick' treats for a while now, but after seeing their £2 price tag in Tesco, & some rather poor reviews here on trusty ol' DooYoo, I'd decided to give them a miss.
That was until I saw them on offer at Asda for a mere 60p. I figured for that price I could at least give them a go....afterall, I could claim back 50p at least by offering my words of wisdom right here....!
The sticks were even thinner than I expected. Probably only about 3mm in diameter. They don't even look very biscuity - more like those salted pretzel-type snacks. The biscuit sticks are coated in milk chocolate...most of the way down at least (a small section is left bare for you to hold them). Taste wise, the whole thing just tastes cheap - cheap biscuit which leaves a dryness in your mouth, & cheap chocolate that tastes...well, like cheap chocolate. They are made by well-known brand Kraft, although the packaging is styled to look Japanese (apparantly, according to the pack blurb, Mikado means 'pick up sticks'...the game which these snack biccies are styled on...).
I've still only munched my way through half the pack. I have to say it's unusual for a pack of treats containing chocolate to last so long in my cupboard! I'm just glad I only paid 60p, & didn't succumb to temptation at full price....needless to say I won't be succumbing again....
Summary: Don't waste your money...
