Advantages: Tasty, yummy
Disadvantages: Calories
I love the milk bottles in the Haribo Super Kiddies Mix but there never seem to be enough of them. There are generally about 5 in a bag and that is so not enough so when I read on here the other day that there is a Haribo Milk mix I was quite excited and decided to look for them in the store today, which, happily, I found!
The milk bottles are sold in a bag called Haribo Milky Mix.
Haribo is the biggest manufacturer of jelly and gummy sweets in the world! They were founded in 1920 in Germany by a gentleman called Hans Riegel. The name Haribo was devised by using the initials of his name with the initial of Bonn, the location in Germany where they are headquartered, HRB - Haribo!!
The Milky Mix come in a plastic bag which is see through in the middle so you can see all the lovely sweeties that you are about to eat. The top of the bag is a white colour, to me this indicates that inside the sweets will be of the milk bottle variety. There is also a cartoon character of a little boy making the packet quite kid friendly in my opinion. There is also a note informing you that the sweets contain no artificial flavours.
The sweets in this bag are simple, unlike the other Haribo mixes which contain lots of different types of sweets. You have the plain white milk bottles and then a milk bottle which is half white, half pink. The milk bottles I would say don't really have a very milky taste but they do taste quite creamy and definitely not fruity at all. The sweets are not as gummy as the fruit flavoured ones but they are still quite chewy and definitely do not have a foamy consistency about them. The pink ones don't really have a fruity taste either but are a little different than just the plain milk ones. They sweets are shaped like milk bottles too which make them quite fun to eat.
The bags generally cost anywhere from £1 (in Woolworths) to £2 in some train stations etc. Watch for two for one offers because you can often find these on Haribos sweets quite frequently!
Now, onto the nutritional values, look away now if you don't want to know! Although these sweets contain a very small amount of fat (only 0.2g fat) 100g of sweets has 347 calories!!! Ahh, that is quite a lot but if you see Haribo as a treat and just eat it now and again or buy a bag to share with everyone then it is not that bad.
Kids and grown-ups love it so, the happy world of Haribo!!
