Mingles

I'm getting to the end of my Christmas chocolate stash and a half-eaten box of Bendick's Mingles is still sitting there awaiting to be scoffed, but I just don't feel great enthusiasm to eat it and would rather stick to the remnants of my tin of Roses for the time being. But why am I not particularly bothered about these chocolates? From appearances 'Mingles' looks fantastic for those (like myself) who adore mint chocolate. You are given five varieties of chocolates 'all with a hint of mint'. My favourite was the one with brown tips which contains 'dark chocolate with a fondant mint centre'. For my sons birthday party my mum was providing us with some nibbles. Part of which consisted of a tin of Mingles, which she claimed would make a nice change from Roses and Quality Street. My, most ungrateful, response, before trying them I might add, was that I would rather have had Roses. But how do I feel now I've scoffed my way through a fair few? Well first I'll tell you about the tin. It is a rather unusual oval shaped container in (amazingly) mint green. On the lid it simply says Bendicks Mingles, with gold stars around it.
