Until EVERYONE had become bored with me eating and left the table so I was able to shove as much of the beef in my pocket and run to the toilet ramming it down the toilet. In reality it probably wasn't a nice thing to do, but in a slightly more sensible reality if I had tried to eat the food I would have regurgitated it all over the table. Mongolian food is as eclectic as the people, however as Western companies move in, its popularity is certainly dwindling. Mainly because I've been asked so much about the food in Mongolia and also because Mongolian cuisine is often misunderstood (if food can be), I've written an overview of the unique traditional Mongolian diet. This overview is based upon personal experience. There are, no doubt, slight regional variations (I travelled capital city, Ulaanbaatar [UB] and Western aimag/district, Hovd).
